 Poetry and Writings Poetry and writings are the chiseled marble of language; it's a paint-spattered canvas - but the writer uses words instead of paint, and the canvas is you. Writing can be an imaginative awareness and it may be used to narrate, describe, argue, or define. There are equally numerous reasons for writing. But writings often have an underlying and over-arching purpose that goes beyond the literal. It typically evokes in the reader an intense emotion: joy, sorrow, anger, love... Alternatively, writing has the ability to surprise the reader with an experience, revelation, insight, further understanding of elemental truth and beauty. Writing is an ancient form that has gone through numerous and drastic reinventions over time. The very nature of poetry as an authentic and individual mode of expression makes it nearly impossible to define. Please take a moment to enjoy words that have been written.
